DOMO: A Legacy Of Exemplary Craft And Timeless Design Icons

The story of DOMO dates back to 1984, with founder Frank Novembre’s search for the quintessential coffee table for his home.

In his pursuit of perfection, Novembre stumbled upon a classic French furniture label for which he grew a deep admiration. With time, he gradually began importing and collecting pieces from this unique label, which eventually grew into DOMO: the furniture company that we have grown to know and love.

Today, DOMO has evolved into Australia’s leading supplier of exceptional furniture and lighting pieces that have redefined everyday living. From classic to contemporary, DOMO delivers diverse and luxurious collections from esteemed designers and brands from every corner of the globe.

With an extensive portfolio of international brands, as well as an exclusive in-house range, DOMO products are designed to refresh every room in the home. Each collection extends beyond their function: with each design’s original vision and authentic engineering, DOMO offers an extensively contemporary collection that complements any interior style.

Ligne Roset, de Sede and Wittmann are at the forefront of contemporary design and are the heart and soul of the DOMO brand. Dating back to 1860 in the Ain province of France, Ligne Roset was established in a wood-processing factory by Antoine Roset. Since then, the family behind the French brand has held a firm belief in design innovation and investment, continuously striving for excellence. Today, Ligne Roset is led by the fourth-generation members of the Roset family, specialising in pieces of modern grandeur from inspiring collaborations with emerging and renowned designers who share the company’s long-lasting philosophy of innovation, creativity and investment.

Considered the Rolls Royce of the furniture industry, de Sede is known for its production of sculptural leather furniture products influenced by the Modernist era. De Sede was born in a humble saddler’s workshop in Klingau, Switzerland, where local craftsmen transformed leather into handcrafted, one-of-a-kind leather seating pieces. Today, each de Sede piece is the result of a meticulous process involving a group of esteemed European designers and expert craftsmen. This group collaborates to design, produce and hand-stitch each and every piece to exceedingly strict standards, creating intricate, elegant and artful details that are uniquely de Sede.

Celebrating 120 years, Wittmann furniture exudes confidence and a timeless quality that dates back to the origins of early modernist design and the Viennese bourgeoisie. Hand-crafted in Austria, Wittman’s designs allude to the designs of prominent architect, Josef Hoffmann, whose works are filled with character and exceptional flair. Each Wittmann design is manufactured in Etsdorf and crafted to the highest standards of quality, with exceptional comfort and a durability that is worth celebrating.

Deeply rooted in classical styles and the rituals of fine craftsmanship are Arte Brotto and Duresta. The Arte Brotto philosophy pays homage to time-honoured traditions and the beauty of Italian workmanship. As a result, their range extends to exquisite hand-finished furniture with intricate inlays, detailing and superior function for everyday living. Characterised by subtle and fine proportions, Duresta designs look towards classic English style elevated with layers of understated elegance and sophistication.

Danish furniture manufacturer, Sika Design honours the beauty of slow living in a range of exquisite, handmade rattan furniture. Founder, Ankiær Andreasen started making wicker baskets in 1940 using reeds gathered from the marshes and straw from the fields after harvest. Two decades later, Andreasen had expanded and worked with the best wicker-makers in Denmark to perfect every detail and form, transforming it into Sika Design.
