Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

Boxa angle slab end table

The beautiful new Boxa table from Nicholls Design – all about the detail.

Designed by: Brad Nicholls

I am: a table

About me:

The Boxa credits its clean simple lines to the traditional box join which shows its structural detail in all its beauty. Boxa is an honest design respecting form, where less is more.

Nicholls’s love for the environment and his beloved farm southeast of Melbourne led him to source sustainable materials for his designs. So, unlike lacquers where you are actually touching a thin film of plastic, when you touch the surface of Boxa its actually timber at your fingertips.

Materials: Select Vic Ash or American Oak finished in natural oil or water based lacquer
