The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

SOUTH Australia’s annual Classic Adelaide International Tarmac Rally will return for its thirteenth year this November with a host of new attractions in support of children’s charity, Variety South Australia.

Text by Stephanie Madison

Two famous names form the motor racing world, Glenn Seton and Englishman Win Percy, will drive in the November 18 – 22 rally for the first time on a course that includes two new stages, morning tea and lunch-stop locations, a Saturday night street party and a new venue for the colourful ceremonial finish.

The event, which starts with a prologue on the climb to the Eagle on the hill and then runs over four daily loops throughout the Adelaide region, is expected to attract more than 200 classic and performance cars and their crews from across Australia and overseas.

Glenn Seton, the 1993 and 1997 Australian Touring Car champion will reunite with Nissan to drive the company’s latest 370Z sports car in the Classic Adelaide, but 1990 Bathurst 1000 winner, Win Percy, will contest the rally in the latest Jaguar XF sedan – the first diesel-powered vehicle to enter.

Rally organiser, and Silverstone Events director, David Edwards says, “The 2009 Classic Adelaide has many new attractions that promise fresh appeal for competitors and the many thousands of spectators we welcome every year. There is nothing else in Australia like it and, some competitors say, nothing like it elsewhere in the world –  this one is shaping up as the best one yet."
