What you do: Design and create beautiful gardens that integrate functional, sculptural and of course edible elements for Pepo.
Your latest project: A concept design for an amazing edible garden for the St Canice church site in Darlinghurst. A project in the making designed to provide food for the soup kitchen and a sanctuary for the people in the neighbourhood.
Who are three people that inspire/excite you:
1) Singer Michael Franti – ‘all the freaky people make the beauty of the world’
2) MONA gallery founder David Walsh
3) Fumiki Takano – Japanese landscape architect. He is joyful, embracing and incredibly talented
What is your favourite…
Car/bike/plane/boat model: Car – Skoda Octavia
Chair model: handmade chairs designed and created by blacksmith Francesco Petrolo, unfortunately very limited edition.
Residential space: ‘Wirrabah’, My home away from home in Orange. I was lucky enough to design the layout of the house and the garden.
Commercial space: Foxeys Hangout cellar door on the Mornington Peninsula – an understated relaxed vineyard in a beautiful location.
Decorative product: Kerrie Brown’s lamp shades and screens.
Functional product: our Pepo clothes lines –we use sustainable materials to make this backyard necessity functional AND sculptural.
Handmade good – I’m currently fascinated by honey and honeycomb! We have two beehives in our garden and the process the bees go through to make that tasty natural honey and the detail of the honeycomb is astounding!
Mass-produced good: Woolly Pocket … for indoor or outdoor use these wall planters look great.
Meal: Fresh abalone cooked on the camp fire in Tassie by James my husband and business partner – the foodie in our family
Restaurant: Lucio’s in Paddington, a beautiful family run Sydney restaurant dedicated to Italian food and stunning art.
Drink: coffee to start the day …. chamomile tea to end it.
Bar: any bar with an outdoor fireplace and comfortable seats so I can sit with friends for hours.
Item in your studio: our cool new rope room divider and of course Sharpie Pens.
Piece of technology: iPad

What does the term ‘Design Hunter™’ mean to you? Always looking and seeing, experiencing and feeling. Good design for me is stripping something back so that it’s both functional and beautiful.
