Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

Get inspired with talks and installations

Hear from design experts at talks and design discussions that will be happening in Surry Hills throughout the day. Early birds can start their day off strong at K5 Furniture, where they – along with showroom partners Elton Group – will play host to Isabelle Toland and Jasper Knight for a Battle Of Art Vs Design. Later on, head over to La Corne for a design discussion on the intersection of heritage and innovation in kitchen design at 11:30am.

If you like your inspiration to come from the experiential and the abstract, be sure to stop by DECO Australia and Klaro Industrial Design, V-ZUG, and K5 Furniture and Elton Group, each of who are collaborating with designers for some incredible installations for The Project.

See the latest product launches

Be first to see the newest products you’ll be specifying in future projects, with many launches happening across Surry Hills. Be sure to swing by Elton Group for their latest innovations, Savage Design for the launch of their Maddox System, Gaggenau for the latest in induction technology

K5 Furniture will get the launches started early with an exclusive VIP night on Friday September 6th, where a lucky few will get to preview their Skins Exhibition, which will also be on show throughout Saturday Indesign.

Reignite connections or make new ones over hospitality and entertainment

Paying homage to one of Sydney’s most bustling suburbs, our Surry Hills exhibitors are levelling up the hospitality and entertainment game this Saturday Indesign. Your morning fuel is sorted thanks to breakfast at K5 Furniture and Elton Group, French pastries at La Cornue, and morning tea at Gaggenau, while midday slumps can be treated thanks to V-ZUG, La Cornue, and Gaggenau. Those looking for an afternoon delight can find treats and entertainment over at Klaro Industrial Design and DECO Australia, while La Cornue will be serving up apértifs, Savage Design will be putting on bubbles and beats, and V-ZUG and Whitehouse School of Design will serve up Aperol hour

Win big in Surry Hills and all over Saturday Indesign

Saturday Indesign wouldn’t be complete without an iconic prize pool, and this year we’re taking it up a notch, with the inaugural Design Passport in play throughout the event. Featuring a prize pool worth over $35,000, the Design Passport is open to attendees who check in to 10 or more showrooms throughout the day and is the easiest way to win big at Saturday Indesign.

Plus, win some of your favourite products and experiences thanks to your favourite brands, with Klaro Industrial Design, V-ZUG, DECO Australia, and K5 Furniture and Elton Group all putting up some amazing prizes to win.

End a day of design with a night to remember

With so much on in Surry Hills and right across the Saturday Indesign map, you’re in for a day of design you’ll never forget. But of course, the event doesn’t end when the last showroom shuts its doors, rather attendees are invited to dance the night away at the official Saturday Indesign afterparty. Presented by Signature Appliances, be sure to grab a ticket before they run out – this is a party you won’t want to miss!
