Laminex’s new range is an ode to intricate timber craftsmanship

These prefinished architectural panels are beautiful, durable, and easy to install.

Flip through architecture magazines or take a scroll on Pinterest and you’ll notice that one thing that sets well designed spaces apart from the rest is materiality. From rich timber grains to textural stones and velvety plasters, a mastery of materials lends a space warmth and character, creating a visual narrative that elevates interiors into a new realm of design brilliance.

Australian brand Laminex have spent nine decades curating a material library that reflects the power of the elements. Directed by a beacon of sustainability, their collection of modern laminates, joinery systems, wall panelling, timber products, and acrylic surfaces play with shape, texture, and finish to create new ways to bring designs to life. Their new range is the embodiment of this notion, capturing the magic of nature’s most tactile materials and diffusing it across a Laminex product that makes it more accessible and easy to install than ever before.

Batten 40 Wall Panels in Laminex Danish Walnut

Introducing the Laminex Architectural Walls and Ceiling Panels, a range of prefinished surfaces that allows walls, ceilings, and joinery to work in seamless harmony. Resembling timber battoning, the panels echo the work of master craftsmen in a product that is convenient and versatile, capturing the magic of timber in a way that makes it inherently usable.

From a design perspective, the range uses different woodgrains and finishes to suit a variety of spaces and applications. Décors of Laminex Raw Birchply, Classic Oak, Sublime Teak, Danish Walnut, Planked Urban Oak, and Blackened Legno can be applied as is, or with a Black Shadowline for added depth and contrast. Laminex Sublime Teak is also available in a Natural Shadowline, and all panels can be specified in one of three linear profiles: VGroove 100, Batten 40, and Batten 60.

These décors and profiles can work in tandem with new or existing Laminex and pieces to create spaces that are defined by materiality. The versatility of the panels allows for a cohesive material palette, while a cacophony of complimentary or contrasting grains and textures can be created by pairing the range alongside other Laminex innovations. Whether creating a rich and tactile kitchen, a Scandinavian-style living space, or an enveloping and evocative study, the pairing and layering of authentic, intricate laminates offers limitless applications for every design aesthetic.

Like all of Laminex’s products, the Architectural Panel range is engineered for durability, and is stain, and scratch resistant, while remaining UV stable. Not only is it able to perform in the busiest of homes, the innovation underpinning the range makes it efficient and affordable to install. Powered by a cutting-edge InvisiLock joining system, the prefinished pieces fit easily into place, all while maintaining a seamless and continuous wall appearance that prevents bows and gaps from appearing over its lifetime.

Cost effective, easy to install, and made for longevity, the new Laminex Architectural Walls and Ceiling Panels are a celebration of materiality. Inspired by the beauty of timber and the craftsmanship of battens, the range is the latest in a long line of innovations that pay homage to the natural elements, bringing them into our homes to create richly layered textures and tones to create luxury that can be lived in.
