Reviving interior elegance: The breathtaking sofa inspired by classic luxury vehicles

The Lincoln Continental vehicle ranges of the 1970s have long been a symbol of practical prestige. Nau repurposes the quintessential Lincoln Continental style into a daring new look.

Inspired by the generous long lines, proportions and low clearance chassis of the classic ‘70s Lincoln Continental vehicle range, Lincoln is a new sofa collection by Nau which channels the practical elegance of luxury cars. Characterised by deep proportions, configuration flexibility and mature colours, this sofa harnesses 20th century pillars of luxury to create the ultimate space of comfort.

Created by award-winning designer Adam Goodrum for Nau, the Lincoln collection was unveiled at Design Show from 20-22 October 2022 and is now available via Cult Design. Nau is a unique Australian design brand with a strong creative vision for the commercial and residential environments of contemporary Australia. Launched five years ago, Nau has been celebrated for championing visionary collections by world-leading designers which celebrate and enhance the Australian spirit.

The Lincoln sofa has a variety of properties which channel the nostalgia of 70s luxury cars. For one, it features a signature wide inner-armrest and extensive modularity – an homage to the Lincoln car’s bench-like backseat and the various seating configurations. Lincoln is available in a variety of set sofa widths as well as single seat and ottoman sizes which can be made to stand alone or incorporated into large dynamic settings. The sofas themselves can be customized with or without arms and with open or closed sides as desired.

A timber base sled fixes each of the separate back, arms and upholstered seat to the sofa – offering even more opportunities for customisation, particularly for lovers of mixed upholstery. This is also advantageous when it comes to on-site installation and customization after the fact, giving owners the power of flexibility in the future.

The Lincoln range represents a complete environment of luxurious functionality. For an extra kick of practical elegance, small floating coffee tables can be added to the ends of the Lincoln sofa. The three solid timber options – Walnut, Natural Oak and Black-Stain Oak – allow for customization whilst keeping the thematic focus on classical luxury intact. A market leader in furniture and homewares, Cult Design offers the Lincoln range nation-wide.
