Did you always have the dream to found your own studio?
Bradhly Le: The thought did not even cross my mind when I started my career. What was crystal clear was that I wanted to surround myself with inspiring people and influential designers that I could learn from – designers who were creative, passionate and masters of their craft. And I did just that.
Little did I know that the energy and diverse experiences I gained from each one of my mentors through the earlier parts of my career would one day set the foundations for founding my own studio.
At what point did you realise you wanted to start RIZEN?
I’ve always believed that people generally gravitate to people they trust and have a rapport with. So, when I became aware that I was creating my very own ecosystem and building my own industry partnerships with consultants, designers and clients, I knew it was time for a change.
And the only way I could achieve my career ambitions and generate real value – real meaning that aligned with my ethos and design goals – was to take control of the wheel. And so, I did just that.
Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the name?
I wanted to start a design studio that wasn’t about me, my name or what I’ve built; I wanted it to be an embodiment of my vision so that the studio focuses on what really matters.
So, the new venture needed to embody my vision for a studio rooted in the real world – one that pursues creative concepts and innovative ideas with originality, determination and perseverance. The ‘rise’ in RIZEN reflects this ethos, while the ‘zen’ represents my commitment to balanced solutions. This sees RIZEN deliver practical, achievable designs that prioritise human needs and address environmental imperatives.
What has been the highlight so far?
People have always been the biggest asset in my mind and there are two schools of thought when it comes to growing a team. I had to decide what was was important: whether to invest in people to attract the work or bring in work to build the team, I was fortunate to have been able to do both. As a result, we have been able to build momentum within the industry and at the same time foster a talented group of designers.
What do you hope RIZEN will achieve a year from now?
It is simple – to create a legacy through design that will have a sustainable and positive impact to the planet and all its inhabitants now and well into the future. And I’d like to believe that RIZEN Atelier will be a studio that will grow with its people, with its clients and solve some important challenges for the future, regardless of scale or complexity – and do it in a way that keeps everything in perfect balance and equilibrium.
3 words that describes who you are?
Creative. Approachable. Ambitious.
What areas of design are you most passionate about?
As designers, we create spaces that both improve the way people live and work and are aesthetically beautiful. What inspires me most is respecting and honouring the site and informing our choices around planning as well as the overall design narrative. It is fundamental in creating a successful and long-lasting project.
The other exciting aspect of commercial interior design is scale. For some projects, thousands of people will inhabit the space that we have planned and designed – that’s pretty powerful. The process of collaborating with other consultants and contractors who are equally passionate about their profession makes working as a designer very rewarding.
Why did you choose to be a part of RIZEN Atelier?
I feel so fortunate to have been approached by Brad at such a pivotal point for RIZEN Atelier. This unique opportunity was so timely in my return to work after my second son. The company connects with my values, whilst also creating meaningful and lasting design across all sectors. I am extremely excited to be a part of the studio’s growth and what we will achieve.
What do you hope to contribute as part of RIZEN Atelier?
As a workplace designer, I strive to draw a clear link between design and performance, demonstrating how the impact of powerful design can have on a business’s performance and culture. I aim to grow the Brisbane studio and work collaboratively with clients, design teams and consultants to ensure that every project is considered and delivered seamlessly.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about transforming ideas into tangible entities, using creativity and resourcefulness to shape the concepts in my mind into physical objects. Now, working in the design and construction industry, I have access to the tools and support that allow me to create engaging environments – from brands and playgrounds to interiors – that people can truly enjoy. The most rewarding part of design for me is seeing these creations come to life for others to experience and appreciate.
Why did you choose to be a part of RIZEN Atelier?
I chose to join RIZEN Atelier because of its genuine emphasis on people and collaboration. I’ve always been passionate about connecting with diverse individuals, learning from them and expanding my own perspectives. When Brad shared with me that the word ‘RIZEN’ is rooted in the idea of ‘rising,’ it resonated deeply. The vision for RIZEN Atelier – where everyone involved, from our team and clients to contractors and collaborators, rises together through growth, learning and mutual support – felt like a community I wanted to contribute to and grow within.
