Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

As Australia’s leading manufacturer of luxury bed linen, Abode Living may already be familiar to you. However, what you may not be familiar with is that we are a family owned and run business, manufacturing in Melbourne. Founded in Melbourne in 1991 by Robert Adair (original founder of Adairs), the Abode Living family has since grown to include his son Ben Adair. This is subsequently the fifth generation of Adair’s to follow in the family business of home textiles and bed linen.

Made in Australia… Right behind our showroom is our factory, office and warehouse. With such a close relationship to the manufacturing and design process, we believe the passion we have for our products sets us apart. Having this facility at our fingertips means we can develop, design and adjust our products or even custom make items with our world class materials. This unique service is something some of Australia’s top interior designers have really taken a warming to.
