Vintage Modern Issue

The breadth and scope of Habitus has always been extraordinary. With how we live at heart of every issue, we have stepped it up with Guest Editor David Flack of Flack Studio shaking the ‘how’ and looking at new ways to make a house a home. With Vintage Modern as the issues theme, we look at the way iconic design has stayed with us, how daring pieces from the past can add the wow factor and how architecture and good design defy the pigeon hole of their era.

Château Suprême

By La Cornue

Château Suprême is the most breathtaking range in the Château series. Reimagined by Ferris Rafauli, this contemporary version is the ultimate in sophistication. Rafauli considered and revised each element of the range to bring out its most distinctive characteristics, elevating the precision of the lines and details to a whole new level.

Château Suprême boasts two grand vaulted ovens – one gas and one electric – and two warming cupboards. It is available with a range of stainless-steel cooktop configurations, which include a walnut chopping block.

Rafauli redesigned the burners and simmering plate to incorporate the nostalgic La Cornue stars, and there is a stepped profiling detailing on all the metal trims and backplates. The dual-material control knobs are in enamel and reeded metal details, and the door fronts have added pull-bar hardware in reeded metal finishes.

Château Suprême is the true champion of the Château series. Each Château Supreme is exclusively made to order in La Cornue’s workshop outside of Paris. It is available in a variety of 50 standard enamel or metal body finishes, with a choice for five trims. Each range is made by hand and numbered by the craftsmen.
