The #42 simply cannot be improved. The chair’s details speak not only of timeless design but the harmonious and understated engineering that defies tradition such as sculpted armrests and angular legs. While the #42 is used predominantly as a dining chair, it is also a comfortable and beautiful desk chair. Today, Kai Kristiansen is in his 80s and still oversees the production of the iconic #42, ensuring it is still produced to the same standards as it was more than 40 years ago.
