Many people simply consume, without thought for the processes behind the designs they buy. This isn’t the Design Hunter™ way of course, and for the next 3 weeks you’ll have a chance to get better acquainted with the processes and the people behind a wide collection of emerging and established Australian design.
Curated by &Company the exhibtion brings together more than 20 designers, manufacturers, makers and retailers to explore what “local, sustainable and intelligent design really means”.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in a number of free workshops exploring “design in the everyday” and paid workshops getting a sneak peak behind the doors of Sydney’s makers and manufacturers.
The exhibition and workshops will feature designs and creative input from companies inclusing; Cloth, DesignByThem, Dinosaur Designs, Gary Galego, Koskela, Mud Australia, Naomi Taplin &company, Oliver Smith, Trent Jansen, Vert Design, Malcolm Greenwood, Rapid Prototype Services, Somchai Charoen, Edols & Elliott, Top 3 By Design, Gaffa, Metalab, Anibou and more.
So if you really care about what goes into that bowl, that chair, those salt and pepper shakers, then get along to In Good Company from 29 January – 19 February 2011 at the Object Gallery in Surry Hills.
