Located on the idyllic Hamilton Island in Queensland, the guest apartment of a luxury waterfront holiday home merges architecture into its lush surroundings. Originally designed by renowned architect Chris Beckingham, known for creating the iconic Qualia resort, this residence has been reimagined by Mr Waller. Waller’s thoughtful updates emphasise sustainable design, ensuring the space integrates seamlessly with the natural landscape.
The addition of an upper level to the southern pavilion creates a private guest apartment with panoramic views of the Passage Peak National Park. The living space is improved by a Northern terrace shaded by sailcloth and an expansive Eastern balcony, connecting residents with the tropical environment.

Key materials like New Guinea Rosewood, which ties the interior to the exterior, offer a sustainable approach to design. The bespoke joinery and custom finishes are crafted with careful attention to the environment and the home’s architectural heritage. A standout feature, the bathroom, incorporates Verde Oceania marble, adding a luxurious yet eco-conscious touch. This material is sourced responsibly and further amplifies the home’s connection to its surroundings, with a raised dormer roofline framing sweeping vistas of the resort and beyond.
